Tulsa Museum Tours in American Sign Language (ASL) 2023
Free monthly public programs developed for and by the signing community–Deaf, Hard of Hearing, as well as ASL fluent friends and family. Each tour was led by a Deaf educators who have all received intensive training in art history and museum education directly in ASL.
Programs were graciously hosted at Gilcrease Museum, 108 Contemporary, Philbrook Museum of Art, and Woody Guthrie Center. Training was also provided for participating staff on an introduction to ASL access to create a welcoming experience.
All tours were well attended with a positive impact at both a community and institutional level.
